Our program rejuvenates the area and deepens the sense of community unity. It backs local businesses with marketing efforts, beautification projects, and engaging events that attract visitors, nurturing a flourishing, sustainable local economy.
Through partnerships with both public and private sectors, we equip businesses with essential growth tools, from financial planning workshops to facade improvement grants, fostering commercial allure and community pride, transforming Rhode Island Avenue into a lively hub for shopping, dining, and entertainment.
The 11th Annual Procrastinator's Holiday Market
It’s back — and bigger than ever!
Now in its 11th year, the Procrastinator’s Holiday Market (PHM) is DC’s favorite tradition for last-minute shoppers, local supporters, and community champions.
This year, PHM is part of It’s a Wonderful Ward — a brand-new, month-long celebration from DC Squared (DC²) designed to bring the joy of giving and community spirit to everyone in Ward 5.
The festivities begin at the Winter Festival @ the U.S. National Arboretum on December 6, hosted by Friends of the National Arboretum in partnership with DC² and DC Child Care Connections — and continue all month long with neighborhood drives and swap stations that bring our community together.
PHM closes out the season on December 20 at Kraken Kourts & Skates on Rhode Island Main Street with a day full of shopping, sharing, and heartwarming connections.
